History:
Since inception, the RV industry has been plagued by rain leaks.
These leaks are responsible for owner discomfort, unsightly stains, foul
odors and countless millions of dollars in damage annually. (Very few
RVs are retired from service due to excessive wear and mileage.) The
problem has been not in repair of a known leak source, but in locating
that source for repair. In spite of this cost and inconvenience, the
loyalty of owners to the RV lifestyle has been steadfast and true. This
tolerance of such a significant maintenance problem speaks volumes about
the passion of RVers for their chosen lifestyle.
The time-honored method for locating rain leaks has been to soak the
RV exterior, then search the interior for moisture. This system has some
serious shortcomings:
 |
incoming rainwater often requires
prohibitive time to cause visible moisture inside the RV, |
 |
inside moisture is rarely adjacent to
the exterior fault that allowed its entrance (water travels), |
 |
pressure soaking a leaking RV
introduces water into walls, ceiling etc. where it remains, |
 |
it is time-consuming, wasteful of
water resources and messy. |
Happily, a sure-fire, practical solution is now available. The Sealtech
430R RV rain leak detection system was developed to meet the
industry's need for a cost-effective, reliable method of locating outer
skin faults for subsequent repair. The system has been acquired by a
number of quality RV manufacturers, dealers and repair facilities
throughout North America.
